Julianne Hough Has "Special" Reunion With Ex Brooks Laich, His Fiancée
Hanging out with her ex is all sunshine for Julianne Hough.
Five years after announcing her breakup with ex-husband Brooks Laich, the Dancing With the Stars co-host spent the day on the lake with him and his pregnant fiancée Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir.
In a picture shared to her Instagram Story July 11, Julianne knelt on the back of a boat and smiled alongside the engaged couple while pointing at Katrín’s baby bump. Atop the snap she gave another nod to the baby, writing, “Special day on the lake with these three cuties.”
The 36-year-old also posted videos of Brooks, Katrín and herself showing off their skills while wakesurfing behind the boat, as well as a group selfie that included her brother Derek Hough.
Julianne’s recap of her day in the sun with the former hockey player is yet another sign that the pair are on good terms following the finalization of their divorce in 2022. Indeed, she even celebrated Brooks and Katrín’s engagement last year.
"Congratulations. I'm so happy for you both as you step into this beautiful new chapter together," the dancer wrote under their December Instagram announcement. “Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and endless adventures."
Plus, months before Brooks and Katrín’s engagement, Julianne reflected on a pleasant run-in she had with the couple at a wedding.
"It was so beautiful," she recounted on a September episode of The Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast. "I’m in this place where I now feel like I’m beginning with so much wisdom, with so much insight, with so much empathy and understanding of what’s possible.”
In fact, the interaction was proof that Julianne’s self-healing was working.
“I’ve never felt more stable,” she continued. “I’ve never felt more secure, I’ve never felt more consistent, I’ve never felt more loved by the people around me than I do right now. I’m like, ‘Wow, I really have such a clean slate.’”
